Music Shopping List: James Vincent McMorrow

In one of the slowest music release weeks of 2016, Irish singer/songwriter James Vincent McMorrow is the biggest forthcoming attraction. 

After a relatively jam-packed August, September begins almost mute.  September 2, 2016 is lackadaisical new music release date.  There are a couple of albums being released, but there are NO major releases.  With so much action arriving as September progresses, the question is, why didn’t record labels seize the first week in September as an opportunity? Irish singer/songwriter James Vincent McMorrow is the big story.  That’s about it.

1. James Vincent McMorrow, We Move

Irish singer/songwriter James Vincent McMorrow is the biggest attraction in one of the year’s quietest new music release dates.  McMorrow returns with his third studio album, We Move.  We Move arrives three years after his sophomore album, Post Tropical (2013).  Comprised of just 10 tracks, two singles were issued prior to the arrival of We Move: “Rising Water” and the thrilling “Get Low.” The Musical Hype recently reviewed “Get Low”; it received an enthusiastic 4 stars.

McMorrow is by no means a big name, but perhaps he can capitalize on a slow week.
