“When I’m next to you / I can hardly help myself / Just look at you / Boy, you’re sending me psychedelic.” Oh, snap, Mike Taveira! Taveira is easy on the eyes (especially sans shirt) 😍 and easy on the ears. In 2024, the handsome, talented pop singer/songwriter dropped an EP, str8_summer. Featuring advanced singles (“Want It Serious?”, “Summer Cinnamon”, and a cover of The Cranberries’ “Linger”), one of the new songs unveiled was “N2U”. He penned “N2U” alongside Carly Paige, and producer, Hubby. Matters of boys fuel the fire. Notably, Taveira identifies as pansexual.

Interestingly, Mike Taveira is willing to just be friends with him. “Know you’re not but you know I’m down / I’ll be whatever you want me to be,” he sings, continuing, “Tell your friends how I’m just your buddy / While you’re / Sneaking your hands on me front of / Everybody.” Well, it seems he may be into a ‘straight’ guy or at least a man who is closeted. Taveira also asserts, “No I don’t mind / Playing pretend / I don’t need to be your boyfriend.” But, as he sings at the top of the song, it’s hard for him to resist. Is this ‘non-relationship’ healthy? Probably not, by his admission of always finding the wrong ones. But, with his sweet tenor pipes, and understanding their arrangement (“Know that I’m / Just your weekends”), it is a temporary pleasure though unsustainable. What isn’t temporary is “N2U”, another bop from an artist who deserves far more attention. Hubby brings the heat behind the boards too.
