Mysterious, moody production work, courtesy of JUDGE and Marshmello, commences “Danger,” the latest teaser track from Bright: The Album.  The soundtrack to the highly-anticipated film, Bright, starring Will Smith, arrives December 15, 2017.  After setting the tone with the instrumental, Migos gets to work.  Naturally, the production ‘digs in’ a bit more with the entrance of the rappers, but still retains an element of mysteriousness.  That’s the danger.

Offset and Takeoff handle the two verses, while Quavo, tackles the chorus, which he sings.

“Danger, danger / I don’t fit in, I’m a stranger / Believer, believer / I can take out all the evil / Empowerment to all my people / I can prove to you I’m a leader / Run through the money, no Visa / Forgive me ‘cause my life illegal.”

While the flow remains tight, and the rhymes are still spry, the rappers ‘lay back’ a bit more than usual on “Danger.” Even though it’s dangerous, and the rhymes convey such, the pace allows for them to chill while still “slicing throats.”

Final Thoughts

All in all, Migos and Marshmello ‘put in work’ on “Danger” … or at least some work.  Like many of the singles from Bright: The Album, it’s good, but not ‘game changing.’  While this is a nice collaboration between unexpected artists, it’s hard to see this catch on beyond the soundtrack. “Bad and Boujee” or “Deadz” “Danger” is not.
