MAX, Meteor © Sony Music EntertainmentUp-and-coming pop artist Max Schneider, better known as Max, returns with an intriguing, new single, “Meteor.”

Max Schneider, better known as MAX, released his official debut project, Hell’s Kitchen Angel, in 2016.  The up-and-coming pop musician hasn’t quite broken through to the mainstream, but he’s definitely experienced some success.  He returns with an intriguing new single, “Meteor.” There’s lots to like about “Meteor.” It commences with an enigmatic intro, which sets the tone for the record.  He quasi-sings, but more notably, delivers with a poetic touch:

“A meteor bursting through my atmosphere / What’s a star I long to touch, it’s so very near / Here I am reaching towards its erupting flame / With thoughts surrounded by your name.”

The M.O. is clearly love. Lyrically, this record doesn’t offer much depth.  However, the vibe and the overall effect intended with the lyrics works without a hitch.  Add a sense of experimentation – going against the grain and the expected – and you have another pro.  Also, worth mentioning are the vocals.  MAX sounds like a boss, particularly when he ascends into his falsetto. Meteor” may be limited lyrically, he does a lot with very little, which is impressive.

Final Thoughts

All in all, MAX serves up a fine single with “Meteor.” The vocals are on-point, the production is brilliant, and the vibe is killer.  Those three characteristics alone make this an intriguing record.  The verses don’t offer the most lyrical depth, but as aforementioned, he soundly gets his voice across, atoning for any lack of lyricism with his magnificent pipes.
