RM of BTS) [Photo Credit: Columbia]Lil Nas X continues to ride the wave of his mega-hit “Old Town Road” with another remix, “Old Town Road (Seoul Town Road Remix)” featuring RM of BTS.

Well, Lil Nas X did it – he made history by claiming the most weeks at no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Old Town Road”.  That’s a huge accomplishment considering the rapper (or whatever he is) bests the Mariah Carey/Boyz-II-Men gem “One Sweet Day” as well as the more recent Luis Fonsi/Daddy Yankee gem, “Despacito”.  Of course, Nas X continues to ‘ride the wave’ of his historic hit with remix after remix after REMIX!  The latest verse of “Old Town Road” enlists RM (of BTS) for the ‘Seoul Town Road Remix.’ To quote Troye Sivan, “My My My!”.

“Old Town Road – Seoul Town Road Remix” commences with RM singing the ‘intro’ or ‘refrain’ – whatever you want to label it: “Yeah, I’m gonna take my horse to the Seoul tow road / I’m gonna ride ‘til I can’t no more.”  Predictable, but fair enough.  From there, Lil Nas X stays faithful to his mega-hit, including the ‘chorus’: “Can’t nobody tell me nothin’ / You can’t tell me nothin’.” Yep, been there, done that.  RM returns for the second verse, where the tweak comes into play:

“I got the homis in my bag
Have you heard of that?
Homis made of steel, from Korea, they the be-e-est
Ridin’ to the farm
Grabbin’ all the corn
We gon’ get yo money with my homi in your backyard.”

Wow. Speechless…. Anyways, beyond all the homi talk, we get the chorus and refrain – again however you want to label the sections of this song – to close things out.  Keeping things short, this particular remix doesn’t even reach two minutes in duration.

Final Thoughts

Is “Old Town Road” getting old? Of course – this is the millionth remix.  Even soul, “Old Town Road – Seoul Town Road Remix” is another enjoyable take, mainly due to the verse about homis by RM. Though, pretty clever changing to “Seoul Town Road” I suppose.
