Hunter Hayes, You Should Be Loved © AtlanticLouisiana country musician Hunter Hayes, assisted by pop-soul group The Shadowboxers, drop a hot, throwback single with “You Should Be Loved.”

Louisiana country musician Hunter Hayes is special. Understatement. Unfortunately, the 26-year old heartthrob, who looks much younger, is underrated.  Happens to some of the best.  Regardless, enlisting the help of upcoming pop-soul group The Shadowboxers, he drops a hot, throwback single, “You Should Be Loved.”

“You Should Be Loved” is short and sweet, clocking in under three minutes in duration.  From the jump, “You Should Be Loved” has an old-school quality, comprised of vintage pop-soul as well as country cues.  Hayes showcases his beautiful voice in all its glory. His tone is bright, exuberant, and exuberant.  His best moments occur on the chorus, which is catchy and well-written.  Also, worth mentioning are the backing vocals, which amplify the soulfulness of this gem. A change of pace on the bridge is thoughtful. It showcases exceptional energy and musicianship. After the percolation on the bride, thoughtfully, Hayes and company ‘bring things down’ before briefly ‘digging back in.’

Final Thoughts

All in all, Hunter Hayes, assisted by The Shadowboxers, delivers a gem with “You Should Be Loved.”  Hayes doesn’t get enough credit for his artistry and his musicianship.  Here, he shows he’s an artist who definitely deserves more attention and more recognition.  Call “You Should Be Love” what it is one – an underrated gem.
