On the Billboard Hot 100, Rae Sremmurd remain in control of the no. 1 spot as “Black Beatles” tops for a sixth week.  Even though “Black Beatles” continues to be a hot topic, Zayn and Taylor Swift have something to say this week as I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker)debuts at no. 6.  There are more stories beyond Rae Sremmurd, Zayn, and Taylor Swift on the Hot 100 dated December 31, 2016.

 

1.) Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane keep the no. 1 spot warm on the Hot 100 with “Black Beatles.”  “Beatles” has now rules for six consecutive weeks.

 

 

2.) The Weeknd and Daft Punk seem unlikelier each and every week to ever ascend to no. 1.  “Starboy” once again remains the bridesmaid at no. 2.

 

 

3.) Bruno Mars sees gains in performance with “24K Magic,” but has been unable to “move the needle” beyond its no. 4 peak.

4.) Zayn and Taylor Swift debut at no. 6 with “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker).”

 

5.) J. Cole sees “Déjà vu” debut at no. 7.  Beyond “Déjà vu,” a host of other songs from 4 Your Eyez Only debut including “Immortal” (no. 11) and “Neighbors” (no. 13).

 

 

6.) Migos and Lil Uzi Vert continue to see “Bad and Boujee” catch-on, though it gains in performance this week despite slipping two spots (no. 24 to no. 26).

10.) Post Malone and Justin Bieber reenter the Hot 100 at no. 77 with “Déjà vu” from Malone’s debut, Stoney. “Congratulations” (featuring Quavo) debuts for the first time at no. 83.
