GRANT KNOCHE, MOSQUITOES | Song Review 🎵

GRANT KNOCHE impresses once more with his short but potent, blood-sucking single, “MOSQUITOES” which criticizes Los Angeles.

“I/ I am so tired right now / How’d I get in this crowd? / Gotta get out this town.” What town does the handsome GRANT KNOCHE ‘gotta get out’ of? Los Angeles! That is not surprising considering that ‘the city of angels’ is not so angelic, or so I’ve heard. The bisexual pop standout makes this clear in his engaging and entertaining single, “MOSQUITOES”. Of those horrible mosquitoes, he asserts, “M-M-Mosquitoes ‘round my head, staying fed / Bunch of petty little bitches / Fake friends, they’ll be / Dropping dead.” Oh, snap! KNOCHE and Lily Hormel penned “MOSQUITOES.”

“MOSQUITOES” runs under two minutes in duration.  Despite its brevity, KNOCHE kicks ass and takes names. The lyrics are biting and fun – a great representation of the downside of Los Angeles culture. Knoche is unapologetic, letting the swear words fly. Among his most memorable moments: “They all just suck your blood / And say they love you / Just to fuck you over like it fun.” Given the lyrics and the fact that Grant ‘raps’ at times, he exhibits ample personality.  Dat boy is cool! Upping the ante is the sleek, minimalist production which is the perfect soundtrack to the sketchiness of LA.  Although he is based in LA, the 22-year-old talent was born and bred in Dallas, Texas, a vastly different place.  His pain and feisty attitude are our listening pleasure on this blood-sucking gem.  The single cover art is also, um, sexy… despite the mosquitoes and blood…
