Encanto Soundtrack Overtakes Adele | Scanning the Charts 📉

Scanning the Charts (1/12/22):  After six consecutive weeks of dominance, Adele slips to no. 2 thanks to Disney’s Encanto soundtrack.  

Music chart analysis, here we come! Scanning the Charts 📉 is exactly what it says it is.  We peruse – scan – through the Billboard Charts and pick out eye-catching happenings. Scanning the Charts 📉 isn’t extensive, but rather short and sweet.  This week, we list only 3 observations from a quiet Billboard 200 📉,  and 7 observations from the Billboard Hot 100 📉, with the Encanto soundtrack ascending ⬆ to no. 1 on the Billboard 200 overtaking 🎙 Adele.

💭 After six consecutive weeks in the top spot, 🎙 Adele slips ⬇ to no. 2.  Who ousted the queen’s 💿 30 from numero uno?  That would be Disney’s Encanto – well the soundtrack at least! It ascends ⬆ from no. 7 to the penthouse, baby!

💭 The highest-charting new entry arrives courtesy of 🎙 Bad Bunny. 💿 Anniversary Trilogy, a vinyl-only box, bows at no. 39. 

💭 Following a bow at no. 27, 🎙 Nas sees all the 💿 Magic disappear. Magic plummets ⬇ from to no. 121 in its second charting week.

Billboard Hot 100 📉 

💭 She may have been knocked off her perch on the Billboard 200, but on the Hot 100, 🎙 Adele returns ⬆ to no. 1 with 🎵 “Easy on Me” for an eighth non-consecutive week.

💭 Encanto also lights the Hot 100 on fire! 🎵 “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” ascends ⬆ from no 50 to no. 5 in its second charting week!  Worth noting, Encanto also features the highest charting new entry on the Hot 100.  🎵 “The Family Madrigal” – 🎙 Stephanie Beatriz, 🎙 Olga Merediz & 🎙 Encanto Cast – launches at no. 62..

💭 Rapper 🎙 Kodak Black hits the top 10 with 🎵 “Super Gremlin,” which ascends from no. 16 to no. 10 in its ninth charting week.

💭 Regardless of whether you want it to or not, 🎵 “abcdefu” by 🎙 Gayle is on the rise ⬆. The top ten seem to be in its future.  It ascends from 17^th to 11^th in week number seven.

💭 🎙 ERNEST and 🎙 Morgan Wallen expectedly impact the Hot 100 with 🎵 “Flower Shops,” which bows at no. 68.  

💭 🎙 Ari Lennox is on the rise with 🎵 “Pressure”! After finally debuting on the Hot 100 last week at no. 94, it ascends ⬆ to no. 79 in its second week.  Get it girl!

💭 I guess the Hot 100 is all about delayed debuts.  First Ari Lennox and now 🎙 Walker Hayes.  The 🎵 “Fancy Like” country musician sees another single, 🎵 “AA”, debut at no. 87.
