EDEN, Vertigo © AstralwerksAhead of his highly-anticipated full-length debut album ‘vertigo,’ EDEN shines on the emotional, honest, third promo single, crash.”

EDEN  impressed tremendously on “start//end”, the lengthy, but stupendous promo single from his first full-length project, vertigo. Another teaser track, “gold” gave the alternative-electro musician yet another gem. Only fittingly, “crash” continues the excellence for the up-and-comer.

“Crash” commences moodily in regards to the vibe. Sporting simple production, the focal point are the distinct vocals of EDEN, which are expressive and beautiful.  The opening lyrics of the introduction confirm the moodiness, also adding a since of reflectiveness.

“It’s been a few years since you’ve been gone / There’s been a few tears, but that was years and years ago / Yeah, I grew up to be exactly what you wanted / Yeah, I been living out the dream that you dreamt up.”

Like previous single “gold,” following a more ‘acoustic,’ straightforward intro, there’s a shift that incorporates more electronic elements and effects.  It’s signaled by pitch-shifted, effects-laden vocals.

“‘Cos you are not who you think you are / There’s no grain on these brown eyes.”

Also like previous singles leading up to vertigo, EDEN drops the bomb – actually a couple of them.

“Only 16, yeah, I think you should’ve known / I think you fucked me up / I think, I think you fucked me up / And I’ve got nothing to say to you.”

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, EDEN has another well-rounded record on his hands with “crash.” He’s both honest and emotional, as well as incredibly captivating.  Perhaps “crash” doesn’t achieve the same masterpiece status as “start/end,” it’s still elite.
