ell, SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is. I, the quirky founder and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye. This column isn’t extensive, but rather short and sweet. This week, I picked out SEVEN notable observations from the Billboard 200 📉, and TWO observations from the Billboard Hot 100 📉, with 🎙 Drake dominating on both major Charts.Billboard 200 📉
💭 After debuting at no. 1 last week, 🎙 Kanye West sees 💿 Donda slip to no. 2.
💭 🎙 Iron Maiden earns the second highest debut on the Billboard 200 with 💿 Senjutsu, which bows at no. 3.
💭 🎙 Imagine Dragons sees 💿 Mercury – Act 1 debut at no. 9.
💭 After debuting at no. 2 last week, 🎙 Halsey sees 💿 If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, slide to no. 11.
💭 🎙 BIG30 debuts at no. 13 with 💿 King of Killbranch.
💭 🎙 Lady Gaga debuts at no. 66 with her remix album, 💿 Dawn of Chromatica.
Billboard Hot 100 📉
💭 🎙 Drake dominates the Hot 100, including securing spots nos. 1-5 and 7-12. 🎵 “Way 2 Sexy,” featuring 🎙 Future and 🎙 Young Thug, debuts at no. 1. Interestingly, the problematic 🎵 “Girls Want Girls” (featuring 🎙 Lil Baby), launches at no. 2. The only non-Drake single in the top-10? 🎵 “Stay” courtesy of 🎙 The Kid LAROI and 🎙 Justin Bieber.
💭 🎙 BTS’ 🎵 “Butter” free falls from no. 1 to no. 17!
