Critics Had Mixed Feelings On These 2016 Albums

Not every album is beloved by critics.  In the case of the nine albums that grace this list, overall, critics were mixed or totally disliked them.  How were the lowest of the low determined? Good ole Metacritic! Let’s get our hands dirty and get to the bottom of why these albums weren’t a “go” for everybody!

1. Meghan Trainor, Thank You

Metascore: 60 

A Metascore of 60 isn’t the worst thing in the world, but it does go to show you that not everybody was on board with Meghan.  The New York Times, who assigned Thank You a 50, calls the album “spotty.” The Guardian, which gave it two stars (or 40) proclaims, “Ultimately, much of Thank you is a bit of a hotchpotch…” UK’s The Observer (gives Trainor one star or a 20) states “Trainor just isn’t a convincing pop star.”

So what were our thoughts on Thank You? In the review penned for Starpulse, Thank You was assigned three stars (60), yet described as  “a mixed bag.”
