The Chart Scoop: LCD Soundsystem, Taylor Swift © Big Machine, ColumbiaWhat’s the chart scoop this week? LCD Soundsystem lands its first no. 1 album on the Billboard 200, while Taylor Swift remains no. 1 on the Hot 100.

For James Murphy and LCD Soundsystem, it was a big week. American Dream debuts at no. 1 on the Billboard 200, moving a respectable 85,000 units.  Most of those units, more than 95%, were traditional sales.  American Dream is the sole new album in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 dated September 23, 2017.

On the Billboard Hot 100, Taylor Swift remains the story.  “Look What You Made Me Do” remains at no. 1 for a second week, while “…Ready for It?” launches at no. 4.  It’s not all about Ms. Swift though, as Cardi B ascends to no. 2 with “Bodak Yellow” and Logic scores his first top-5 hit with “1-800-273-8255.”  Here are some takeaways from both the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Hot 100.
