Brent Faiyaz, Make Luv © Lost Kids / Human Re-Sources22-year old Baltimore R&B musician Brent Faiyaz shines on his sensual new single, “Make Luv.” After showing little respect, his girl wants him, especially sexually.

22-year old up-and-coming R&B singer Brent Faiyaz drops a bedroom-oriented joint with “Make Luv.” “Make Luv” sounds moody and of course, sexy from the start.  The production sets the tone, specifically the bass synth, and drum programming.  The Baltimore musician uses his silky, smooth, and soulful vocals to sell this sensual urban contemporary joint.  After essentially being told he “wasn’t much” by his girl, she wants him, and it.

Following the respective verses, the listener is served up the pre-chorus.  Here, Faiyaz is ‘feeling himself’ and makes it clear that his girl underestimated him, and ‘did him wrong.’

“My money long / This Moncler coat feels nice / Who even knows your name? / Know, I won’t / No, you won’t / You trippin’ balls / I’m a superstar / Try to call now, it just might break your heart / Don’t push your luck, girl / Get lost / Gave you all I had / But it wasn’t enough / Thought I wasn’t much.”

He sums up her desires on the chorus, adding a lovely dash of falsetto.

“But now you wanna make love / Now you wanna make love to me / Thought I wasn’t much / But now you wanna make love to me / Girl, you wanna make love / Now you wanna make love to me / Thought I wasn’t much / Now you wanna make love to me.”

Final Thoughts

Overall, “Make Luv” is an enjoyable, sexy record. Brent Faiyaz delivers a great vocal performance, perfectly suited for the sensual vibe. The main rub is that it could use more variation. Still, well-rounded by all means.
