Ali Gatie, I’m Sorry | Song Review 🎵

Canadian R&B singer/songwriter Ali Gatie is regretful and repentant, seeking reconciliation on his apologetic single, “I’m Sorry.” 

“Is it too late to say I’m in love and to say I’m sorry?” That is the question, Ali Gatie! The Toronto artist  possesses a sweet voice.  Once more, on “I’m Sorry”, his first single of 2024, Gatie shows off the beauty of his instrument.  Furthermore, he sings about his favorite topic: LOVE.  Gatie wrote this three-and-a-half-minute single – a fine blend of pop and contemporary R&B – alongside producer, Rebel Beats.  All in all, the results are positive.

Notably, it is guitar that carries the rhythm of “I’m Sorry” initially.  By the second verse, however, the drum groove enters the mix, providing contrast.  Also, “I’m Sorry” grows a bit more dynamic as it progresses, though never overblown.  While the instrumental deserves a shout out, it is those sweet vocals by Ali Gatie that take the cake.  Furthermore, he delivers tuneful melodies, particularly the pre-chorus and the centerpiece, the chorus. “Am I too late? Did you move on / Found somebody else that’s worth your lovin’,” he sings in the chorus, adding, “Is it too late to say I’m in love and to say I’m sorry?” The lyrics center around regret and repentance for his love sins and miscues.  Will she take him back? Who knows.  What we do know is, regarding quality, Gatie has nothing to be sorry about on  “I’m Sorry”.  It’s not the second coming, but, it’s effective and enjoyable.
