Adam Lambert, Two Fux © Warner BrosPop artist and American Idol alum Adam Lambert returns with a captivating, bluntly-titled, new single, ‘Two Fux.’

Apparently, Adam Lambert and his co-songwriters didn’t give “Two Fux” when they named the new single.  Blunt, bold, and essentially respelling the f-bomb, “Two Fux” is exactly what it says it is.  While naming a promo single in such a manner is risky, there’s still a certain amount of shock value.  Then on the other hand, this is also the place where pop music has evolved, where profanity seems to be the rule as opposed to the exception. Ultimately, “Two Fux” works out well for the American Idol alum.

“People think that I’m from Mars / Whatever.” Sigh. On the verses, Lambert paints himself as a nonconformist and fearless.  The aforementioned excerpt from the first verse showcases how others view him.  He goes on to sing:

“Only smoke that holy green
High above the big machine
Not attached to anything
Whatever
I got that magic you call ADD
Rep for them aliens different like me.”

Lambert offers much of the same on the second verse, describing his discomforts, and being misunderstood, ultimately.

“I’m the center of a crowded room
I might as well be on the moon
Searching for that one or two
Who get it
You see me talking to myself
‘Cause no one gets me like myself
I’ve been this way since I was twelve
I get it.”

On the chorus, he basically doesn’t care what others think.  This is where the f-word comes into play!

“If you think that what I do and how I live’s too much
I don’t really really give two fux…”

Final Thoughts

“Two Fux” is ultimately well produced, blending pop, rock, and even a dash of urban flavor superbly.  The best moment comes near the end when Lambert lets loose vocally, showing off his magnificent, dynamic pipes.  All in all, it’s an enjoyable record that speaks to owning nonconformity and being unafraid to be different.
