SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is.  I, the quirky founder and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye.  To reiterate what I said last week ( 📉Ariana Grande Holds Down No. 1), this column won’t be extensive, but rather short and sweet, keeping that 💩 moving.  This week, I picked out FIVE notable observations 🔎 from the Billboard 200, and FIVE observations 🔎 from the Billboard Hot 100, with 🎙 AC/DC launching at no. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with 💿 Power Up.

Billboard 200

💭 🎙 AC/DC is the big story on the charts this week. 💿 Power Up bests the competition to take the top spot on the Billboard 200.  Rock on! 🎙 Ariana Grande, meanwhile, slips ⬇ from no. 1 to no. 4  with 💿 Positions.

💭 Starting right behind the iconic Australian band at no. 2 is 💿 Pluto x Baby Pluto, the highly anticipated collaboration by 🎙 Future and 🎙 Lil Uzi Vert.  In most weeks, a Future/Lil Uzi Vert project would secure no. 1, just saying!

💭 🏆 Grammy-award winner 🎙 Chris Stapleton solidifies the brand-new top three with 💿 Starting Over

💭 The final top-10 debut arrives courtesy of 🎙 YoungBoy Never Broke Again.  💿 Until I Return starts at no. 10.

💭 Some familiar names releasing new albums manage to miss the top-10.  🎙 2 Chainz settles for a no. 15 start with 💿 So Help Me God!  Also, 🎙 Andrea Bocelli settles for no. 26 bow with his new album, 💿 Believe.  Even 🎙 Pentatonix underwhelm with the no. 30 launch of 💿 We Need a Little Christmas.

Billboard Hot 100

💭 There’s no reason for 🎙 24kGoldn or 🎙 Iann Dior to be in a bad mood.  They continue to hold the no. 1 spot on the Hot 100 with 🎵 “Mood.”

💭 🏆 Grammy winner 🎙 Billie Eilish makes quite a leap up the Hot 100 as 🎵 “Therefore I Am” ascends ⬆ from no. 94 to no. 2.

💭 🎙 Mariah Carey sees her former no. 1 hit, 🎵 “All I Want for Christmas is You,” reenter the Hot 100 at no. 29.  It’s that time of year!

💭 🏆 Grammy winner 🎙 Lil Nas X ushers in the holiday season with his own “Holiday” at no. 37.

💭 🎙 Thomas Rhett debuts at no. 85 with “What’s Your Country Song”.
