Innuendo? More like full-on sexual vibes! Welcome to After Dark 🕛 🌃, a column featuring songs that are best suited for nighttime, specifically, the bedroom.  Many of the records featured here raise eyebrows, as well as the temperature! These After Dark tunes focus on the universal three-letter word:  SEX. The dark records gracing After Dark are old and new alike, with all genres of music welcome.  In the 90th edition of After Dark (2022), we explore the naughty, risqué, & sexual vibes behind, 🎵 “Do Not Disturb”  by 🎙 Halestorm

Theme & Lyrics

Halestorm, Vicious [📷: Atlantic]“I think we should make out / In a few hours I’m getting on a plane / There’s a pretty safe bet you’ll never see me again, yeah.” Ooh-la-la, 🎙 Lzzy Hale.  The front woman of 🎙 Halestorm has pleasure on her mind on 🎵 “Do Not Disturb”, particularly since their time together is limited.  What better way to enjoy each other than sex? In the first verse of this unapologetic, sexed-up joint, Hale compliments his accent, adding, “I wonder what it’ll sound like when you cum.” Oh, $hi†, Lzzy!

This unapologetic, rock standout from Halestorm’s 2018 album, 💿 Vicious, doesn’t end with the first verse. In the second, she encourages nudity and asserts, “Oh baby let me taste ya, shake ya, tie you up and break ya.” Damn! The chorus, the centerpiece, is where things get even freakier.  First of all, as you’d expect, they’re meeting in a hotel, in room 1334 to be precise.  Furthermore, Lzzy wants no disruptions while they get it on.  “Turn your cellphone off, leave a sign on the door / That says, ‘Do not disturb.’” The fun expands to a third person which seems fitting given how wild and free “Do Not Disturb” is:

“And if I were you I’d bring your girlfriend, too

Two is better than one, three is better than two.”

Final Thoughts 💭

Bitmoji ImageLzzy Hale and Halestorm do not hold back on 🎵 “Do Not Disturb”.  The sex is lit! Beyond the freakiness of this 🎛 Nick Raskulinecz produced standout, the music is rad too.  Epic vocals by Lzzy, a turned-up guitar solo, and a tuneful melody even if it is the sex that ‘takes the cake.’
